Meet The Team

Our team of skilled professionals are ready to help you and your loved ones navigate the ever-changing challenges of aging. Experience how we put our expertise, care and compassion to work for you.

Operating Status:

Archer Law Office is acutely aware of the rapidly unfolding efforts of our community to cope with and control COVID-19. We are taking every precaution to minimize any possible risk in our offices. Having said that, our offices in Hamilton and Jamesburg REMAIN OPEN DAILY for in-person appointments, although most of our staff will be working from home where possible. The firm’s Bridgewater and Moorestown offices are available by appointment. The firm is also offering phone and video consultation via Zoom to anyone who might prefer that right now.

Archer Law Office remains the State’s premier elder law crisis management firm, and we stand ready, willing, and able to assist with your elder law and estate planning concerns in this or any other time.

Archer Law Office

is a central Jersey law firm focusing exclusively on the needs of those who care for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.

Medicaid Planning and Applications

Medicaid is designed to ease the burden of paying for long-term care, but it can be very complicated to navigate the system and care is enormously costly if you do not succeed. The State has implemented regulations to govern eligibility for these programs but their interpretation often varies by county and even by caseworker.

Archer Law Office has experience filing a large number of applications annually in many New Jersey counties, so we know what the caseworker is going to ask for even before they do. We can spot and anticipate issues before we file an application, so we give a client as much as clarity as possible, and process applications more quickly.

Care and Crisis Management

How do I Know I Need an Elder Law Attorney?

What sets Archer Law Office apart from typical elder law firms in the region is its commitment not only to legal documents and complex planning when appropriate, but also to the practical and people-centered needs of its caregiver clients. The firm’s Director of Senior Living Resources, Tom Callahan, guides families to find the best senior housing options for their loved ones’ individual circumstances and challenges. He is also called upon to defuse high-conflict situations where caregivers and concerned family are unable to address issues themselves. With assistance from Tom and the firm’s legal personnel, families can work together toward a solution that benefits their loved ones while saving both the stress and expense of litigation, and the structure and rigor of a social work environment.

The staff of Archer Law Office provides a full range of services and supports to caregivers through central
and southern New Jersey.

Any person over 18 should consider having a Will, a Durable General Power of Attorney, and a Healthcare Proxy (or similar medical document). The documents can eliminate stressful  legal emergencies in the future.

Our team consists of three attorneys, support staff, and a care consultant, who combine to create an unmatched resource for seniors and their caregivers in central New Jersey. The team is led by Carl Archer, an attorney designated as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the ABA-accredited National Elder Law Foundation, and the current President of the New Jersey chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Carl is known as a resourceful, aggressive attorney who is equally comfortable constructing a complex asset plan and trying a contested guardianship case. The firm does not encourage litigation, but is uniquely prepared to advocate for its clients when litigation is necessary. Meanwhile, in the office, the legal staff boasts the services of a Medicaid paralegal who has filed hundreds of Medicaid applications throughout Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Burlington, and Camden counties, among others, in the past several years. All of the legal work which the firm contracts to do is performed in-house and is never delegated or outsourced. The firm routinely handles a variety of probate, special needs, and guardianship matters for clients in any stage of their relationship with their loved ones. When clients come to the firm in need of immediate practical assistance, Archer Law Office is also proud to be associated with Tom Callahan, the firm’s Director of Senior Living Resources, whose work with the firm comes with his nearly 20 years of experience in all facets of senior living from design to operations to sales to administration, in addition to a private practice advising families in crisis.
